just keep swimming

August 23, 2011

As the time to go on vacation (WOOHOO!!) gets closer, the crazier things get in my life. How does that work, every time? I don’t know.

So, with that said, I wanted to share some quick things that have been keeping me above water and entertained, as I’m slowly pulled to the bottom by endless projects, tight deadlines, and regular ‘grown-up’ stuff.

Please, do share anything that’s been catching your eye lately. I can always do with any cool distractions. 😉
Finally got back to reading “The Hunger Games.” A friend told me it would be a quick read, but I’m a slow and forgetful reader. So, here we are, four months later after I purchased the book, and I’m finally 3/4 of the way done. IT IS SO GOOD. I plan to finish it before going on my trip, so that I can start “Catching Fire,” the second one in the series, and read that over my vacation time. Yay! To all of my reader friends, this one is for you. Try it out.

A few songs that I can’t stop listening to:

Paper Route — Better Life

David Ramirez — Shoeboxes

Mutemath — Odd Soul

It explains my state of mind right now, and what I’m trying to accomplish. Thanks Stefan.

… and, I’m still waiting on my Pottermore owl. (rolls eyes)

As Allie always tells me, be kind to yourself, sweetie. “Grown up stuff” is hard work, and we know all too well that vacations usually mean overtime before and after just to make up for the time gone. My favorite story as a kid? The Elves and the Shoemaker… gosh, I’m telling you those elves don’t exist! So remember, this is your LIFE, and job ≠ life. Go on vacation, breathe deeply, Dance and spin and laugh until your sides hurt! Em-joy!!!
