touch the silver sea

July 9, 2012

Summer has arrived in Oregon. Well, at least the sunny/hot part wasn’t here yet.

We’ve all gone for walks, had cold treats, laid outside, updated our facebook/twitter statuses with something related to how hot it is; but most of all, I think we’ve given thanks for finally getting a proper warm summertime.

I feel so blessed to be in the city now. I’m a lover of having alone time, and having new places to explore is the perfect fit for me. It’s fun to venture anywhere and meet/see new people and places.

May you have a lovely summer! Please, drink lots of water, wear sunscreen and enjoy every minute you can. Wherever you may be, stay cool!

Here are few shots to welcome that summertime (July), we have been waiting for.

Had my first recording studio experience on July 4th. I got to visit my friends Jenn and Will while they worked on their upcoming album. Sounded amazing! It was super neat to be in a space where Elliott Smith, She and Him, Chris Walla, Colin Meloy and many more, have been in. Totally cool.

During one of my city walks, I passed The English Department, an adorable boutique located downtown. I fell in love with this beauty. Someday…

A few finds from my Saturday adventure:
_YUM: vanilla pear jam by Packer Orchard and Bakery, $6 (found at the Farmers Market)
_FINALLY: “Cien Años de Soledad” by Gabriel García Márquez, $8 (found at Powell’s)
_MUSICA: Such Buds by Starving Daughters $2 (found at Tender Loving Empire store)

Lunch via Koi Fusion food truck by the Portland Art Museum. $2 tacos? You can’t go wrong with that. Que rico!

Street find. I love this. #wordstoliveby

And lastly, I couldn’t leave without sharing some lovely tunes.

This is in honor of the wonderful Erin and her month-long adventure in California for her new job. Enjoy the sunshine and beauty all around you! xo
