fear her

November 10, 2011

I like scary movies. Not the “lets show a lot of blood until someone in the audience gets sick” type of scary. I enjoy the suspenseful ones, that keep you on the edge of your seat, holding your breath, and gripping the chair so tightly as if it’s the only thing that will save you. I tend to watch these sorts of brilliant movies either alone (ill advised), or with my younger brother. We are both big chickens, so when things get way too tense one of us will crack a joke to ease the moment, and then we jump right back to the mystery. I love/miss that.

So, it turns out, this coming February, I’ll be getting a REAL good scare. The Woman In Black comes to cinemas in 2012, and I can’t wait. The protagonist is our dear pal Mr. Radcliffe, and by the looks of it, his character is going to be up against things that will make us scream a little (or  a lot), and jump 20 feet in the air. I’m up for it, are you?

It is based on the book by Susan Hill, and it’s most definitely on my TO READ list. Really looking forward to digging in. The only other eerie material I’ve read is Edgar Allan Poe, and I absolutely enjoyed his stories. I don’t think I’ve read a ghost story yet… not that I can recall at least. This should be fun, and by fun I mean spooky, of course.

Any ghost stories you can recommend?
